The soup, cereal, oatmeal, nuts, and other food items will help to meet my students' basic needs over the holiday break. For many of my students, the free breakfast and lunch that they eat at school are the only meals that they are guaranteed on a daily basis. During holiday breaks, the students struggle to find enough food to eat at home and, therefore, often experience hunger while they are out of school. It is my goal to send each student home with a bag full of food that they can enjoy while they are home for the holidays. Hopefully, these food items will give the students the nourishment and strength that they need to return to school in January rejuvenated and ready to learn!
