Over half of my students have Autism and require a variety of sensory supports in order to be successful. Our school lost our sensory room this year due to space issues, making it necessary for me to increase the sensory supports in my classroom. Having the appropriate materials for a calming area in the class will be incredibly helpful for my students to learn how to self-regulate. Also, the fidget and sensory toys will help my students participate in other activities during the school day. Sensory supports help keep my students safe while getting the input they need from their environment.
