My students enjoy being engaged in their own learning. They like hands-on experiences instead of worksheets. This drone will allow them to go outside of the classroom to work on something bigger than what's just in the classroom. Each student will need to solve, using trigonometry, the height of their drone. They will also guess the height of the drone using measurements found on the ground as well as using GPS coordinates. Students in my class have also been asked by the science teacher in my building to calculate the area and surface area of the outdoor classroom in order to know how much mulch his classes will need to buy to continue with their outdoor gardens.
