Kindergarten is the foundation of a child’s education. Along with academics, I believe that teaching life skills such as communication, perspective, organization, and critical thinking is a big part of the kindergarten curriculum. Focusing on these skills during their earlier years of school will help set a path for success in their later years. Organization is important to teach in kindergarten because it sets the base for a lifelong, positive habit. Being organized is a standard that will help the students set the pace for success throughout their education. It helps students understand the importance of being responsible and taking care of their own belongings. Because my students sit at tables and not desks, seat sacks will help them with learning how to be organized and responsible for their belongings!
