Having flexible seating available to my students will provide them the ability to choose where they want to sit. I work with middle school students, and they like to make decisions for themselves and not be told where to sit. My students have mentioned to me before that my classroom does not even look like a Science class. I have no Science tables or any lab supplies. I plan to create another project where I will seek funding for lab tables, but in the meantime I would like to focus on motivating and keeping my students in my classroom. While some of my students know that they are in Special Education, I want to be able to provide an environment that would make their general education peers want to be in my classroom as well. This will help provide a welcoming environment for my students. I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade Science, and have included some resources that would be great additions to my classroom.
