As a mentor in the Check & Connect program, we are seeking donations to purchase hoodies for students whose parents cannot afford to purchase one that is in compliance with the district’s uniform policy. These hoodies are not readily available in local stores, and it is difficult for our students’ families to make online purchases. As the weather gets colder, the Check & Connect mentors in Oklahoma City Public Schools would like to provide hoodies to the students who need them so that they are able to continue attending school, stay warm, and comply with their school’s dress code requirements. The donated funds will be used to purchase solid black hoodies in a variety of sizes to provide to students who don’t have a school-approved hoodie. Students who have warm and appropriate clothing are more likely to attend school in the winter months, leading to increased opportunities for learning and making progress towards high school graduation. Thank you for your generous support of this project!
