Hands-on engaging activities allow students to take charge of their learning and enjoy science. Their curiosity will naturally lead them to make their own discoveries through play. What better low-tech toy for middle school students than Lego? Every age enjoys building and discovering with Lego. Simple machines will come to life and be used to create various projects together. The Simple Machines Sets are multi-functional and can be added to many other Lego sets in the classroom to make new creations. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and understand concepts on a deeper level when given STEAM activities and challenges.
