Courageous risk-takers. Those words describe my students the best. During their last two years of high school, they have chosen to take on the challenges of an international college preparatory program. For many of them, English is their second language, but that does not stop them from engaging with challenging, powerful, and nuanced texts. These texts set my students up for success during the final semester of their senior year as they prepare for their international exams. Students find the content, writing style, and overarching themes to be relatable and applicable to their own lives, their communities, and the world. Help me help my students engage with literature that is unexpected and profound, this school year and beyond.
