These two iPads will rock our world and open up a whole new pathway into my students’ potential! My students will use the iPads during station time to listen to stories being read allowed while they track the print and learn to read. They will have access to numerous apps that teach students how to blend letters together to make words. When students practice these skills alone at a station, they blend the words, but there is no way for them to know if they read the word correctly. With the iPads, they can listen to the word being read correctly and receive immediate feedback. There are also apps that teach students how to form letters correctly. This is a huge deal because today’s students struggle with writing letters from top-to-bottom and left-to-right. Math skills can be tedious to practice with pencil and paper, but with the iPads, students will be engaged with the animation and vivid colors and movement while sitting in a cozy corner of our room. Kindergarten students could even learn to code while they are at this early stage of their schooling. The individual learning and differentiation that could be achieved with two iPads in our kindergarten classroom would make a significant impact and would be appreciated immensely!
