My students are from all around the world! I want to celebrate and embrace the differences in cultures with them by acting out traditional stories from other countries. My class will rehearse and practice four different tales from four different countries. They will then perform for every grade level in our school. I will create resources for each grade level to use that will have them reflect on what the saw and connect to their reading and writing standards. We will create props, study the different countries, and discuss the importance of recognizing and respecting cultural differences together all while building language skills! One of the biggest parts of a culture is their traditional dress, and this project will allow for my students to represent that to all the students in the school. The added visuals that this project will help provide by supplying the students with costumes and props will allow for my deaf students and students that don't speak English to have a much greater comprehension! As a minority majority school district it is constantly stressed to us the importance of not just telling students but showing them! Thank you for your time and consideration. We are excited for what this project could bring to us!
