Students will study a new book each week to learn how to understand new vocabulary, retell the story, and write their opinions. We will follow a program that goes through a 5 day process of studying books. The first day, the students will be read to and discuss what they learned or liked about the book. The second day will focus on retelling the story in sequential order. The third day focuses on understanding the plot, characters, and setting of the story. On the forth day, students will learn new vocabulary from the book. On the fifth and final day, students will write about the story.
