As a physical education teacher, I try to teach basic fundamentals such as hopping, skipping, jumping, galloping, etc. I also like to teach team sports. I try to teach some sort of baseball/softball skill (such as the overhand throw) during baseball/softball season, dribbling during basketball season, kicking and trapping during soccer season, and so on. My students seem to show more interest in the activity if I do these things around the same time they are playing these sports. I chose basketballs for my project because I organize a program called Little Dribblers. I usually have around 200 participants from two grades. Although this program only has about 200 participants, all 550 of my students use basketballs to learn and practice dribbling skills. Dribbling can and does help with hand-eye coordination in my students. These basketballs will be used to help my students learn how to dribble and how to complete a few, simple fundamentals of basketball.
