Having a carpet in my classroom will allow for a soft place for my students to gather while doing number corners and all class reads! When you gather your students up for circle time, a carpet in the destination spot can serve as a great anchor. Students won’t question where to sit, or spread out very far because the rug becomes the destination and the edges of the rug serve as a defined space for them to sit. The carpet will also help reduce the noise level in my classroom. Hard floors and walls tend to echo when there’s a lot of commotion inside a busy classroom. By having a carpet in our classroom, it will help cut down on the echoing! Carpets also can take a very neutral-colored room and give it a warmer and more comfortable feeling. Help me give my students a comfortable place to gather and learn!
