The Julia Cook books requested will help the five second grade teachers at our school teach about good character. My Mouth is a Volcano teaches about respectful listening. We spend a great deal of time learning from each other in second grade. It is important that our students learn to listen to each other without interrupting. The first weeks of second grade are filled with lessons on being a good citizen. This includes being respectful, responsible, and kind. The materials requested will allow us to create lessons on listening and learning to differentiate between tattling and responsible reporting. Bully Beans will help us remind our kids that kindness is an important trait. We are excited for these mentor text to start our kids off right!
