Hands-on STEAM (science technology engineering art and math) experiences inspire student interest in math and science. The glass cylinders will help students understand liquid volume and accurate measurement. Clear glass graduated cylinders will allow students to accurately view and measure liquids, as we conduct a variety of lab experiments. Students are given specific measurements, and they need to read the meniscus of the fluid levels. This will be easier to do with these glass cylinders. Also, glass is much easier to clean than plastic. Recently, we did a lab using water, dry ice, and food coloring. It was challenging to accurately measure using old, plastic cylinders with no contrast in the color markings. The cleaning supplies allow us to keep our lab tidy and safe, and keep our equipment in good order.
