My school's music program is in great need of a quality sound system. This year I have chosen to invest in a portable 600-watt sound system that will be used in my classroom and in our performance spaces. Our school has a vast music program including General Music, Band, Choir and Orchestra. This investment will be used often. It is my hope to train each student singer to hear and listen with precision, match pitch accurately, create a beautiful tone quality, and proudly perform their skill for a listening audience. Not only is this my hope, but it is my job. The sound system that we currently have in our classroom is not manufactured for these specific purposes. It is a system that was made specifically for singular speaking purposes only. Therefore, when audio accompaniment tracks are played for the students, they cannot hear everything that they need to hear in order to produce the elements of proper singing technique. In addition, our current speaker system makes a constant buzzing sound that distracts my students' ears from being able to hear what pitch they are meant to sing. Lastly, although my students' parents loved what they saw at our end of year performance, they reported to me that they could not hear their children singing. We were so sad to have worked all of those months to prepare for a performance that our parents were not able to hear. Please help my students receive the vocal education that they deserve and work hard for.
