All the items chosen were chosen with science, math, and creativity in mind. Blocks, STEM materials, and train set promote creativity and will help in science standards. Math materials were chosen to help teach Kindergarten CCSS in math. Specifically ten frame paddles will help with addition and subtraction standards. The balance scales will help with our measurement unit, as our classroom currently has just 1 scale for math centers. The wiggle cushion and comfy seating will be used for kids who need alternative seating to be more focused. The art cart will replace 2 bulky carts wooden carts that are housed in the hallway. Half the shelves don't pull out. The new cart is mobile and can be brought in the classroom, which will aid in supervision.
