As a school counselor, my goal is to create a learning environment that promotes positive interactions and strong character. The white board, markers, and chart paper will provide mini lessons to help meet the needs of our diverse student population. I am beginning mini lessons with student groups at my school. These mini lessons will focus on: self esteem, coping skills, and friendship building. In order to hold counseling sessions, my students will need a white board, markers, and chart paper so we can share our thoughts and feelings and become good citizens of our school community. The white board will help with facilitating my mini-lessons. With the markers and chart paper, I will be able to provide thinking maps and visual aides for my students during my mini-lessons. This will help with vocabulary development and comprehension of the topics discussed. With the charts created, we will also be able to review and revisit our lessons as they develop into students of character.
