Students in the 21st Century classroom need opportunities to move around and interact with their peers. We want our students to learn important social skills and collaborative abilities as young children in the third grade classroom. Students also want to be comfortable in their classroom environment. Flexible seating options, including soft places for students to sit on the floor and tables to aid in deep group discussion, support our class and facilitate learning through engagement of students with benefits that are widely recognized by the top companies and organizations, including Google. We are asking for tables, floor seats and wobble chairs that help students focus, both at their desk and in alternative places throughout the room. When we recognize students need to move around the room and find comfortable places to collaborate with others, we see a higher level of engagement in student learning. Higher levels of engagement equals deeper learning experiences that improve the achievement of students in the classroom. My students love my classroom and I want to make it even more inviting to students. Please help me fund my classroom!
