These diverse books will help my students feel included and appreciated every day. I have a vast amount of diverse students in my classroom and I want them to all feel and be represented. Many of the books I have listed represent students from cultures such as Middle Eastern, Indian, Hispanic, Native American, Asian, and African American. I also have books listed that include characters with learning difficulties and physical difficulties. Not only will these books help the students feel included, but they will also help increase awareness and understanding for students who are not familiar with the other cultures, disabilities, etc, around them. By donating to our project, you will be providing every student with a book that they can relate to in some way. It is important for students to read diverse books in order to learn about each other and push past perceived social boundaries or stereotypes. My hope is that these books will open their eyes to their similarities and how they can all achieve extraordinary things despite their differences.
