The items I have chosen to put in our store are items that will be very motivating for our kids. It will give them a chance to work with money skills by earning, saving, counting the correct amount, and making change, in a way that will model real-life skills. This will help the kids learn functional life skills in a practical way, rather than trying to learn money skills through worksheets and transfer those skills later. The plastic coins are very realistic, and the students will use the screw-top containers as their "banks" to store their earned coins. They will have the opportunity to earn money for activities such as completing work, as well as demonstrating kindness towards others or going out of their way to help someone. They will count their coins at least once a day to practice and record what they have earned, and they will have an opportunity at least once a week to visit the "store."
