Graphic novels are too often an untapped resource in classroom curriculum. It's an extremely popular medium that students greatly enjoy. The titles I've selected have the ability to connect with students in that they feature stories from diverse populations and mix dynamic visuals with accessible and highly relatable prose. Being able to provide students with texts they'll wholeheartedly enjoy is crucial to promoting confidence in reading. I want my students to feel that school is a place for them to explore their personal interests and feel inspired to develop the academic skills necessary to create their own future. Students in my classes have struggled to meet grade level standards in English in previous years. By providing students with books that capture their interests, student will build confidence and consider Language Arts a study in which they can flourish. Your donation will be giving students the opportunity to expand their reading skills by proving them with texts they'll enjoy.
