We are a 5th grade SDC (Special Day Class) class in a suburban area in CA. We are very motivated to learn and do our best each and everyday with the limited resources we have. We love to read a variety of books,fiction, nonfiction,and biographies, but we have very few. I have 12 students in my class, and they all struggle with reading and language. They like to chorale read, partner read and share with each other information from the books they have read. Reading is a struggle for them each day, but they never give up. They enjoy guided reading groups, but always have to share our books, we never have enough copies for everyone in the group. They would really enjoy some new books at their reading level.
