Arts’ very nature produces record keeping and social awatrnrss. Proficiency in drawing comes through observational drawing practice. Learning about your community’s resources and beauty also come from observation and journaling. Onsite hiking for ‘plein aire’ artmaking and journaling us a 3-way win: exercise, creativity, and scientific observation and journaling. Arts’ very nature produces record keeping and social observations. Backpack chairs would provide a place to sit while walking the streets of downtown looking for interesting structures to draw, or hiking our farmlands and mountains for flora and fauna. We current sit on whatever surface is available and are limited in the materials we can use to record what we see. Backpack chairs would really bump up my students’ opportunities.
