I teach in a low-income school that serves students in grades PreK- 5th. Our students often have many challenges outside of school that affect their performance within school. Despite this, they show up every day ready to work with smiles on their faces. Many students enter my class below grade level. At the beginning of the year, we do many assessments in order to benchmark the students to find out where the students are academically to meet them where they are and help them the best that we can. I always chart and keep the data, but for the past several years I have been sharing the data with the students. I believe it is important to let them see where they started so that they can see how far they grew! My students always look forward to data conferences and seeing their growth. But with your donation, I can give the the opportunity to take the more active role that they are ready for! By using this binder, they will be able to keep their own records of their progress with their guided reading levels, their social emotional/behaviors, comprehension, STAR 360 scores, and more. With your help, you will be able to help my students take a more active role in monitoring their progress. They are so ready and I can't wait to let them take the lead!
