In order to facilitate flexible seating in my classroom, a variety of options are needed. Stools can be used at the counter. Bookshelves hold the materials that were previously under the counter. Existing regular-height tables will have existing seating plus the option roller-stools. Existing low-height tables will utilize cushions. By giving my students a choice of learning environment within our classroom, they take responsibility and ownership of their education. Collaboration becomes the norm, classroom topics are more deeply discussed, and students are motivated to learn more! Giving students more choices in the classroom tells students that they matter and that they can succeed!
