Flexible seating is everywhere right now, and for good reason. There are many benefits that flexible seating creates in the classroom. Flexible seating offers students choice and ownership regarding their classroom environment. Instead of learning how to sit, students get to decide how they are going to sit to learn. This is such an empowering concept. Students get to take ownership of their own learning. Flexible seating allows collaboration and choice while students pick where they work and with whom. It is exciting to walk around the classroom and listen to the academic language that flexible seating encourages. Flexible seating helps keeps children alert and focused. It makes the classroom their own and they love it!
