Our program runs a weekly coffee shop called Daily Grounds. My special education students learn all aspects of it. Some of the things they learn while running Panther Grounds: * Creating the menu, price list and google order forms * Taking inventory and shopping for items we need weekly * Setting up our store weekly * Customer Service - direct selling and delivery * Counting money and making change We are requesting the Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. Weekly, we make dozens of ice cubes, orange cubes and coffee cubes for our recipes (iced coffee, smoothies and lemonade/iced tea). Currently, we are using our refrigerator and one in another classroom. This can be difficult for our students when trying to prepare things the week before. With this new refrigerator, we will be able to have everything in one spot, with many shelves in the freezer and in our classroom kitchen. One large benefit we've seen is the interactions between our regular education population and the special education students running the coffee shop. There are more positive interactions, General Ed students see our students in a positive light, providing "good stuff".
