My students attend a suburban, public elementary school. I teach in the Exceptional Children's Program and I have students that really struggle with language and comprehension of text. Many of my students are able to decode text fluently and recall literal information easily. However, they have a very difficult time making inferences and drawing conclusions from the text. Additionally, recalling information from nonfiction passages is extremely difficult for most of my students.
