The current LCD system in our library is outdated. The CD/DVD drives no longer work and the sound system doesn't connect with our current technology. When guests come to the school, I have to piece together a system that is able to show video and have sound. The students suffer because they cannot hear or see the presentations well. More importantly, student work and special projects such as student created videos are unable to be showcased at school wide assemblies. Providing a new laptop for our school media center with a DVD/CD drive would allow students to be able to showcase projects and get more out of community service presentations. Having this new laptop would allow our students to shine by enabling them to showcase their projects/videos during school wide assemblies. It will also strengthen their sense of belonging to the community by allowing for colorful, engaging, presentations for all to see and hear!
