This is the founding year of my charter school, and students are eager to explore music. We are an Arts based school, so an emphasis is put on learning music. I also see each student every day, which gives me more opportunities to be creative with my lessons. I want my students to find joy in music, and become life-long music makers. I have been accumulating supplies - a parachute, scarves, and instruments - and I need ideas to use these supplies effectively. I believe with new curriculum materials such as rhythm sticks and Kodaly curriculum, I will be able to plan engaging lessons that will keep the joy of music in my classroom.
