Clay is one medium that promotes creativity. It is especially beneficial to young people – it helps promote self-confidence and encourages self-expression. In addition to all the other benefits of art, clay modeling offers these benefits: develops motor skills, helps with creative problem-solving and manipulating clay is therapeutic. Air-dry clay does not require a kiln for finishing, making it an easy material for younger children to work with. As a class we will use the clay to create personalized art that the students can treasure! Many students would love the opportunity to mold a personalized pendant. We work as a class to create items that will build our knowledge of art but more importantly create something they will keep forever. Having a piece of clay, that only they made, with give them an amazing experience and memories that will last.
