These sewing kits will help my students to master a new skill they have not previously been exposed to. I will use these kits as an extension of our animal science unit. I need a variety of animals so students can create these based on which animal they will research. My hope is that teaching this skill of sewing will show my students how to be creators. They will learn how to make toys and puppets out of simple supplies. In doing so, they will also learn a new strategy to soothe their stimulated minds. The focus practiced when sewing is an invaluable bonus.
