Doing math without a calculator? Ouch! My students are trying hard but they lack the resources for true success. Additionally, I take the time to enhance my lessons with Screencastify and find media sources to help with understanding, but in a class our 30 students, headphones are needed so that a proper learning environment can be maintained. Headphones allow students to stay more focused and the calculators help the students the put their attention on learning the new skill and not lose time by making mistakes with basic computations. Students care more when we show that we have invested in them.
