My students have small group instruction/practice time with me as often as possible. Unfortunately, the small groups are not as close to me as I need them to be to get all the learning benefits. That is my reason for the activity table I’m asking for. With this table, I can be at a closer proximity and encourage my young learners as they work, redirect them right in the moment if needed, and not disturb my other young learners working at their desks. My students will benefit from hands-on activities and close proximity to the teacher, interacting with skills they struggle with as their self- confidence rises. I need this table to benefit all my students learning. It will enable me to quietly work with students who tend to disrupt our learning and working environment in their frustration. I can work with students in a small group setting that best fits their needs by letting them use alternative tools such as white-board markers on the table and check for understanding right away, taking away the paper, pencil, eraser part of their experience and giving them a fun way to show their work. Kids can be highly engaged with rising self- esteem about their own abilities all the while.
