“Everybody Plays” is the Adapted Physical Education department’s motto because it means that no matter what physical and or cognitive differences my students have compared to their typical peers they all have AT LEAST one thing in common... they love to PLAY! Having equipment that can be utilized by every student on our campus is crucial in our journey to provide our students with both typical and special needs with an inclusive educational environment. Too often gross motor play is overlooked when thinking about the important aspects of school. This is sad to me because I see how powerful and uniting gross motor time can be for all students. My students benefit greatly from the times they are allotted to practice their gross motor skills as well as the major benefits (for ALL students) of interacting with their peers that they might not normally interact with! Help me bring our students together!
