The STEM projects will allow students to build a simple electric circuits and learn the functions of electric cells, switches, and lamps. Students will construct and learn the difference between services and parallel circuits. Projects will allow students to extract DNA from onions. This kit is designed to challenge abstract concepts (including DNA, genes, and enzymes) more concrete—and to make biology fun and hands-on. STEM kits will provide three opportunities for students to have hands-on practice with stoichiometry. It allows students to predict the mass or volume of reaction products, calculate percent yield and percent error, and write balanced equations. Other STEM kits will provide students a great hands-on introduction to chemical reactions and reaction types. Students will observe a series of reactions then use those observations to build a mini activity series.
