My fourth graders are so curious about the world around them and the ever-changing pace of technology! My hope is to keep their curiosity alive and enhance their learning through the use of Chromebooks in my classroom. We currently have 15 Chromebooks in my classroom. My students love those Chromebooks and would be on them all day if they could; however, with only a partial class set, that isn't possible right now. My dream is to give my students a 1:1 experience with technology in the very near future! I have worked at a school in the past that was 1:1, and I loved seeing those students change their perspective of what school could be in their lives. It was no longer a burden or another thing to do in the day, it was a chance to expand their minds for the better. Being at that school helped me realize that, if we as teachers are going to change our students' lives, we need to help them take advantage of the changing world right now so they are prepared to make a difference when they themselves enter the world. I want to use websites that enhance learning and give the power to my students to move at their own pace. I want to show them that it's okay to not know the answer to every question in the world and that in this day and age there are resources available to help you find the answers to your burning questions. I want to go paperless with my assessments and worksheets and still help my students with reading comprehension and math reteaching so they can be successful. I want to give my students the opportunity to experience the world from the comfort of our classroom through technology.
