Having access to Chromebooks in my classroom will immediately increase the motivation and engagement of my students in their learning. My students are constantly talking about their favorite video games, their favorite cell phones, and their online community of friends. Capitalizing on these interests to target their reading and math instruction is vital to their level of success in the classroom. Including the use of Chromebooks in my classroom will allow me to use a plethora of online resources for students to use to increase their reading, writing, and math fluency. These are essential skills that my students need to master. Because most students at my school are at-risk students, the focus is to help our students grow a year and a half each year in order to help them catch up. These Chromebooks will be a valuable tool in helping each of my students reach this goal.
