All students deserve the opportunity to travel outside of the community. This field trip will allow our students to learn about the history of the state of Alabama and make what they have learned in Social Studies class come to life. Students will take a charter bus to the city of Montgomery, our state capital. There they will tour the State Capital building, visit the Civil Rights Museum, take a walking tour of historical sites in Alabama, stop at the bus stop where Rosa Parks was arrested, visit Old Alabama Town, and even take a riverboat tour while we eat lunch. This opportunity will allow students to really focus on what we have learned in class and apply it to the real world; there is nothing like seeing historical events come to life. Students will walk away with the knowledge of historical events and be able to apply what they have learned to their lives.
