I would like to have a classroom library of books and magazines in French for my students to choose from. We will spend time most days having time for free independent reading. In some of my classes we will also read books together. Reading in a foreign language is one of the best ways to learn the language. By having interesting and comprehensible reading material for my students, they will be more engaged in reading and will acquire more of the French language. Many teenagers have a difficult time staying engaged when reading, and this is especially the case when reading in another language. This is why it is especially important for the classroom library to contain a wide variety of books and magazines from which they can choose.
