These materials will help me provide more incentives for my students to continue working hard and being 100% engaged 100% of the time. All of my students know that they can begin earning tickets from the second they walk into my classroom. They know that I am always keeping my eye out for students giving me their personal best and meeting my expectations. The students get fired up about earning tickets throughout class because they know they can cash in their tickets for prizes, snacks, and treats at the "store". All of my students use their dry erase markers to track the tickets they earn throughout class. I give out tickets to individual students who are tracking the best (sitting up, eyes on speaker, voice off), participating in class discussions, and volunteering to do problems on the board. I give entire rows a ticket if the entire row is the quickest and quietest to complete a task, such as taking out their workbooks and getting ready to learn. I also give the entire class tickets if they have the best transition in the hallway and record the fastest time to enter the class and track the previous day's exit tickets in their tracking chart. The ticket and store system has greatly impacted the environment in my classroom in a positive way. It is a way for me to constantly praise and reward hard work. It has made high levels of participation and engagement a norm and it gets my students excited about coming to my class. This donation will help me keep my store stocked with incentives for the students. They really enjoy saving tickets and redeeming, because they know that they earned it.
