The math classroom does not have a whiteboard. It has a two shower board that we use as a whiteboard, with a large crack down the middle where they are connected. The dry erase markers do not come off of the shower boards very well. We have to use sprays to clean off most but not all of the dry erase marker. This leaves shadows and makes it difficult for the students to see what has been written on the board. Our school has 65% of the students enrolled are on the free or reduced lunch program. With over half of the students on a free or reduced lunch, I want to make sure the students have the proper materials to succeed in their education. Having the whiteboard the students will be able to read the math examples that go on the board and not wonder if what was written today or was it actually what was written the other day. With a new whiteboard, students will be on the right track to getting all of the proper materials needed to be successful in mathematics.
