Hands on lab in measuring and experiencing radioactivity. My state has a rich history in Uranium ore production form the original hydrogen bomb production back in the 50s. I have been in the old mines and have some ore samples from those mines. I like to tell them the stories of the miners who put Moab Utah on the map back in the day and the millions they made in ore production. My student only know Moab Utah as a epic place to hike mountain bike and jeep. Little do they know the Geiger Counter is what made the towns and a lot of the back roads they bike and jeep on. I also go over the geology of the area.
