This year we are creating doodle notes, as adding color increases students comprehension. The colored pencils and sharpeners will help with this project. A photo printer and laminator will give my students an opportunity to take photographs of science in action outside the classroom and then share it in class and print it out. We will call this "Citizen Scientist" These photos will be part of a citizen scientist contest and will be shared on a school website as well. Many students don't have their own school supplies, so our art tools will help them with their classroom interactive notebooks. A scanner will also allow students to create a digital portfolio of their science explorations. I hope that students can choose the work they are proudest of from each unit and post it in their google drive digital portfolio. I also hope the scanner will allow for opportunities to share their work with other students across the country on a classroom website. They will be citizen scientists and this opportunity will open their eyes to science examples outside the classroom.
