The resources I am requesting is a 4 ft by 8 ft magnetic whiteboard that can be installed on my classroom wall and some whiteboard erasers. Group work is a big part of our classroom. When students are working together on problems, it is helpful for them to have space on the board to work through their ideas. This allows everyone in the group to see the ideas and contribute. It also means that groups can circulate around the room and look at the work of other students. Having more whiteboard space will allow more students to be able to participate in writing down their ideas. A magnetic whiteboard will allow me to try some new types of learning activities. My current whiteboard is not magnetic, so the addition of a magnetic whiteboard will allow me to plan activities that would involve manipulating magnetic pieces on the board. Many of my students are better able to focus when they are doing activities that allow them to move around and touch the math.
