How vital is typing in day-to-day life? My students often don't have the means to practice typing, which is essential to their performance on state standardized tests. With this project, I want to use technology to improve the typing skills of my students which will help them in their immediate and lifelong future! My students deserve technology that will help them learn skills necessary and relevant throughout their entire lives! Many of them do not have the hands-on technological resources to practice typing. Many of my visual learner students would also benefit greatly from a document camera which will help them visualize exactly where they can improve when annotating. My students will also use the tablets to explore the mathematics behind their improvement with typing. We will analyze trends and they will mathematically understand that practice really does make perfect! This grant would not only inspire my students to learn about typing and literacy, but it will also help inspire my students to learn about technology. Without this grant my students will not be able to practice this vital skill and will not perform to their utmost potential on state exams!
