With this iPad with an Osmo and Audiobooks, my beginning to read students will have a better opportunity to be immersed into the English language. I want to use these Audiobooks to create a Listening Center where the students can listen to books on CDs. This will improve comprehension and critical thinking skills. With the iPad and Osmo I will create an iPad Center. I want my kiddos to reach their full potential. With the ever evolving need to adapt, I will revamp and enhance my math, writing, and library centers I have already started with supplies we need to allow my students to move from the typical paper and pencil style learning to a more hands-on approach. These Learning Centers would allow my kiddos to engage with each other. Whether a student is teaching or learning from another, it's a WIN-WIN! The teaching/learning will all happen organically without teacher intervention, frustration, or embarrassment. Also, just as important as academics, the students are able to work on their social skills through questions, answers, and explanation. Lastly, and probably most important, these new Learning Centers make learning fun! With many years of schooling ahead of them, I truly feel the attitude of "learning is fun" is needed to ensure a successful future. Learning Centers will allow my students to learn but not feel the pressures to retain or perform. The students will feel as if they were playing rather than being tested.
