The materials will be embedded throughout the 4K daily lessons and activities to help promote the identification of student feelings and promote appropriate behaviors and reactions based upon those feelings. Sharing, giving, staying in our own space, and accepting each other for who we are, are some of the biggest ways my students will grow this year in our classroom. An example of one activity my students enjoy is using the think-pair-share strategy to learn with their peers about each other's feelings, learning to read their peer's facial and body reactions, and discussions about how they may react and feel differently. My students will learn to respect their feelings, the feelings of their peers, and feelings of others they interact within their daily lives. The goal is to teach students that their feelings are okay to have and learn how to appropriate display and voice those feelings and when to seek help to work through those feelings. Along with the social emotional items I have also included dry erase folders and markers. These will be used for our small group work time. The folders will allow me to easily change out skills for individual students. Thank you for this opportunity to help get my classroom all that it needs.
