My special education students have a love for school. They struggle every day but always put their best foot forward. To build their confidence, I am focusing on strengthening their reading skills. They need to be able to read in order to access the curriculum as well as be able to function in life when they are older. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are confident in themselves and their abilities to learn. With a new magnetic reading easel that comes with all of the bells and whistles as well as improved reading tools that I can use daily in my classroom, my students will be able to focus on the fundamentals of reading. They will benefit from Silver Moon Spelling Rules and a new Developing Fluency Reading Kit because their reading skills will be sharpened. My special education students also can strengthen their ability to regulate their frustrations and emotions by utilizing an In the Jar Emotions Kit. I hope that you will help my students grow so that their lives will be brighter and more successful.
